Below is a communication sent 31 May 2016 regarding purchasing of Macs for the UConn community:
We are excited about the new relationship with Barnes and Noble and ability it provides for us to look at our business processes and procedures to improve services to faculty, staff, and students. One of the changes we are making is the relationship with Apple. Rather than purchasing through the UConn Bookstore, the university will purchase directly from Apple. This will simplify the ordering process for the university community.
An additional benefit is that the University will now have a dedicated Apple representative to support all of our business needs. Our Account Rep, Dave Koffskey, can be reached at email@example.com or by calling (512) 674-6871.
UConn Business Related Purchases
Departments seeking to buy Apple products to support their University business needs should contact Mike Garcia. Apple will provide you with a quote. All University business-related Apple purchases must be done through KFS. The quote should be attached to your requisition in KFS so that your order can be processed promptly. Procurement Services will process your order from there and your product will be shipped to the delivery address you provided.
Students and Individual Personal Purchases
Students or individuals wishing to buy Apple products for personal or non-business related use will continue to do so at the UConn Bookstore.
Service for Apple Products
UConn Bookstore will continue to provide the hardware warranty support services for Apple products.
