Desktop Email Clients for Linux

These screenshots are of Thunderbird setup, but the server settings in step 4 will apply for other clients as well.

  1. The first time you open Thunderbird, you will be prompted to either create a new email address or use an existing one – choose Skip this and use my existing email

  2. On the Mail Account Setup page, enter your name as you would like others to see it, your first.last@uconn.edu email address, and your NetID password. Click Continue.

  3. When the option appears, choose Manual config.

  4. In the manual account settings window, enter the following (screenshot below). The username for both incoming and outgoing is your first.last@uconn.edu.
