Outlook 2013 Instructions for IMAP

  1. Open Outlook
  2. Click File
  3. Click Account Settings and in the drop down menu click Account Settings

  4. In the pop up menu, click on New…

  5. In the pop up menu, make sure E-mail Account is checked and then click Next

  6. In the next menu, select Manual setup or additional server types and then click Next

  7. In the next menu, select POP or IMAP and click Next

  8. In the following menu fill in User Information with your first and last name and your engineering email address. Select IMAP for the server type and type in mail.engr.uconn.edu for both the incoming and outgoing servers. The login information should be username@ad.engr.uconn.edu and your engineering password

  9. Then click on the More Settings tab, click on Outgoing Server and check the box for My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication and Use same settings as my incoming mail server

  10. Then click on the Advanced tab and set Incoming Server (IMAP) to 993 and the encryption type to SSL. Then set the Outgoing Server (SMTP) to 587 and the encryption type to TLS

  11. Then click OK and click Next when you’re back in the change account menu. Outlook should verify that your information is correct and you then be able to see the additional mailbox below your default
