Data Storage Overview

Overview

Each member of the School of Engineering is given 10GB of enterprise grade file storage. This means it is fast, reliable, backed-up, has built-in version control, and is available from Windows, Mac, and Linux. Additionally, group storage is available in 100GB shares to researchers and departmental staff.

How to Access

When you login to a Windows computer using your engineering username and password, you will have an H: drive automatically created that provides access to your 10GB of file space. Through ECS Linux, the drive is mounted as /home/username. Other methods for accessing your files storage are detailed below.

Group Shares

Shared storage for research and administrative purposes will be granted on request. Faculty and staff needing this storage should submit a ticket to the SoE help desk here or send email to help@engr.uconn.edu.
